Our Home

Camelot Nursing and Residential home is located in the idyllic south coast town of Worthing in West Sussex, in a quiet road not far from the promenade, and close to the main shopping area.

As both a nursing and residential home Camelot can provide quality care across a wide range of individual needs.

In Susan Munro Camelot has one of the longest serving owners of a care home in the area and provides a warm and homely environment for res-dents and visitors alike.

Camelot is accommodated within two large, detached houses that have been linked and extended and has 36 rooms of which 10 have en-suite facilities. Each room has its own TV point, and residents are encouraged to bring in their own personal effects to provide a familiar environment to their room.

There is a beautifully appointed dining room where residents may take their meals, all of which are prepared fresh on a daily basis in our fully equipped kitchen.

There are many activities to be enjoyed at Camelot including a well-equipped activities room with an upright piano and keyboard for entertainment, and a separate area within which residents can play board games or get involved with arts and crafts supervised by Camelot’s own Activities Coordinator.

The Munro Suite includes a bright and spacious TV lounge which overlooks and has nearby access to the front patio garden, with mature and well stocked plants, and areas where residents can sit during the milder weather. There is also a rear garden where residents are encouraged to help maintain it.

There is a laundry room that deals with everything in the home, and dry cleaning can also be arranged.

Our Owner

"My name is Sue Munro and I have been the owner of Camelot for over 40 years. As it is the only care home I own, I have been able to ensure that we maintain the same family values that have been in place throughout those years.

Our home evokes a warm, homely feel provided by loyal, caring management and staff, and we have been honoured to care for many happy long term residents.

The family feel is extended to our dining, with Marcus Keeling providing excellent and varied meals as chef.

Camelot is dual registered for both residential and nursing which means that even if you do not have existing nursing needs, you can be assured that if and when those needs may arise, you will be able to remain at Camelot.

For those who do not know Worthing, we are able to boast one of the mildest climates in the UK, as we are sheltered by the South Downs.

The wonderful seafront promenade is just a 5 minute walk away, and the recently refurbished Worthing Pier that provides amazing views to the east and west.

I have so much more to tell you about our home and hope the pages of our website provide you with more information on things such as dining, our philosophy of care and our activities.

My manager, administrator and I would be very pleased to welcome you to Camelot, please telephone or email us to arrange a visit."

Our Care

“We are able to care for older residents whose overriding nursing and care needs can be safely met within the Home’s environment. We are able to care for those residents with severely impaired mobility who require assistance with personal care and nutrition, who have continence care needs, who require assistance with medication and who have an assessed need for care from qualified nursing staff.

We are also able to take blood samples and make certain other diagnostic tests in accordance with the GPs instructions, within the comfort of the home

We aim to provide a homely and inclusive atmosphere, where residents and their loved ones can be involved in their care and make choices as to how they wish to live and to the treatment they receive

Prior to consideration for admission to Camelot, prospective residents are assessed to ascertain nursing and care requirements and whether these can safely be met within the home environment. All admissions are considered to be on a trial basis for the first six weeks following admission.

We will consider all prospective residents, regardless of funding source, and we are able to accept emergency admissions.

Please telephone or email us to arrange a visit."
